Empowering Education in Northern Uganda
Turning the Page Toward a Brighter Future — 2025 Impact & Annual Report
Summary of Turn the Page Uganda 2025 Annual & Impact Report
Turn the Page Uganda is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to improving education in Northern Uganda by supplying schools with state-approved textbooks. Founded in 2010, the organization’s mission is to raise the educational level of Ugandan students so they can thrive in a global economy, while fostering mutual understanding between Ugandan and American communities. Since its inception, Turn the Page Uganda has grown from supporting just two schools to serving over 300 by 2025, marking a major milestone in its fifteen-year journey. Its vision centers on creating well-equipped schools full of learning opportunities where both students and teachers have the resources to succeed.
In 2025, the organization provided textbooks worth $500 each to 57 schools across multiple districts, reaching 56,562 students and 1,099 teachers. Schools from Apac, Lira, Kole, Oyam, and other Northern Ugandan regions benefited from these donations. The group maintains close relationships with head teachers and mentors who help ensure that textbooks are effectively integrated into classroom teaching. A key highlight of the year was the collaboration with the Rotary Club of Arua, which facilitated the procurement and distribution of $3,500 worth of textbooks to seven schools in Arua and Terego Districts. This partnership not only strengthened literacy outcomes but also reinforced the organization’s commitment to community-based educational development.
Looking ahead to 2026, Turn the Page Uganda plans to extend its reach to at least 60 additional schools and deepen its collaboration with Rotary International. The organization also aims to introduce teacher training programs on effective book usage, expand grassroots fundraising through creative events, and enhance its storytelling and outreach via social media. With aspirations to send another board member to Uganda for on-the-ground engagement, Turn the Page Uganda continues to exemplify the power of volunteerism and global partnerships in advancing basic education and literacy.
